TOPIC & SPEAKER: Illustrator Night with Gary Clement
Gary Clement has been the daily political cartoonist for Canada's National Post in Toronto since the newspaper's launch in 1998. His illustration work has appeared in magazines and newspapers including Mother Jones, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Time, The Guardian, and The National (Abu Dhabi).
The Great Poochini, Gary's second children’s book, received the Governor General's Award for Children's Literature Illustration in 1999. He also illustrated Oy, Feh, So? and Ten Old Men and Mouse, both written by Cary Fagan. Gary’s newest book is Swimming, Swimming, published by Groundwood Books.

PRE-MEETING DINNER WITH THE SPEAKER: To join us for dinner with the speaker, RSVP to Cathy Rondina. We meet at 5:30 pm at The Pickle Barrel (1 block N of Eglinton, W off Yonge, 2nd floor of Yonge-Eglinton Centre).
LOCATION: Our monthly meetings are at Toronto Public Library Northern District Branch, 40 Orchard View Blvd. (1 block N of Eglinton, W off Yonge) in Room 200 (2nd floor).
TRANSIT: TPL Northern District Branch is 1 block north of the Eglinton subway stop on the Yonge line.
PARKING: The closest Green P parking lot is 75 Holly Street (1 block E of Yonge, S of Eglinton). There are other Green P lots on Erskine, Castlefield and Sherwood, 3 to 5 blocks N of Eglinton. The Yonge-Eglinton Centre has underground parking, with an entrance on Orchard View Blvd.
