Join as a Friend

CANSCAIP Friends include emerging, unpublished or self-published writers or illustrators.  Our Friends also include publishers, journalists, librarians, educators, parents and others who appreciate books for young people. 

Writers or illustrators of self-published books, or books published by companies not recognized as trade or educational publishers, are welcome to join as Friends. CANSCAIP declines to individually assess self-published work, recognizing that becoming published by a recognized publisher is a reasonably objective benchmark of professional editorial quality.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP RATES

• CANSCAIP has a discount code for students who wish to join as Friends.  Use the code STUDENT to join for only $20.
• The student price is available to any student enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution on a full-time or part-time basis, regardless of area of study. (Proof of enrollment may be requested after you join.)
• The code only works for new membership sign-ups. If you're still a student when it's time to renew your Friend membership, to request the student rate again, please email office@canscaip.org.
