Bio
Farida Zaman is a freelance artist and has been illustrating and designing for over 15 years. She has lived all over the world and uses this rich experience to create vivid, lively, and colorful images of places, people, and ideas. Her work has been used in print advertising, consumer packaging, web pages, greeting cards, and stationery. Farida has published several children's story books as well as illustrations for school text books and early learning books. Her whimsical and eye-catching style lends itself very well to younger audiences. In addition to her children's' artwork, Farida has created designs for greeting cards, annual reports, editorial pieces, packaging, and wearable arts.
Farida's illustrations have been used in national newspapers and magazines in Britain, Canada, a nd the United States. She has illustrated book covers for cook books, romance novels, and short story collections and has also designed posters for public and media events. She has regularly contributed her work to UNICEF for fund-raising use in their greeting card sales as well as for educational and press / media kits. Farida's global clients include London Transport, Body Shop, BMG Music, the World Health Organization, and Doubleday Books.
Farida completed her art foundation course at Chelsea College of Art in London and graduated top of her class from London's Wimbledon School of Art. She has lived and worked in London, Geneva, and Toronto, and now lives in the New York area. She is a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York, the Graphic Artists Guild in New York, The Society of Children's' Book Writers and Illustrators, CAPIC (Canadian Association of Illustrators and Photographers), and CANSCAIP (Canadian Association of Children's Artists and Publishers). Her commercial work is represented by the New York firm of Bernstein and Andriulli. She spent a number of years freelancing in London and New York and is currently working out of Toronto where she lives with her husband and a daughter and a son.
