Gordon Korman: Today's Perspective
Gordon Korman's first novel came out in 1978 and he's been going strong ever since. Join us on May 14 to hear from this much-loved Canadian author who has published books for kids in five different decades. What changes and what stays the same? What makes a story age well? How does he write differently for today's kids, and how have experience and the shifting landscape of the publishing industry influenced the way he writes?
Gordon Korman
wrote the well-known
Macdonald Hall
books when he was still in school himself. He has gone on to write over eighty books for kids and teens, including the more recent
Swindle
and
Hypnotist
series and standalones
Schooled
and
Gifted
. His books have been translated into close to 30 languages and have sold over 25 million copies. Last but not least, although he now lives in Long Island, Gordon Korman was an early member of CANSCAIP!
