TOPIC: Books for Babies and Toddlers
Which elements of story, vocabulary, voice, illustration and even format are considered when creating and publishing books that will appeal to babies and parents? Don't miss this discussion of the many complexities of these seemingly simple books.
Theo Heras is the author of Hat On, Hat Off, Babycakes and Where’s Bunny. Theo is a former children's librarian, and her well-loved baby program at TPL ran for many years. Marthe Jocelyn has published nearly forty books for young readers. Her books for babies include One Piece of String, One Red Button, and Over Under. Samantha Swenson is the children's books editor at Penguin Random House Canada, and was formerly at Kids Can Press.

TRANSIT & PARKING: From Eglinton station on the Yonge subway line, walk 1 block N on Yonge to Orchard View. The closest parking is Yonge-Eglinton Centre's (expensive) underground lot with an entrance on Orchard View. There are Green P parking lots on Erskine, Castlefield and Sherwood.
